ABOUT
Jacob Stanfield, known to friends and family as “Jake”, and known to train crews as “that idiot in the pickup truck”, has had a passion for photography and anything that’s loud and has wheels. When he’s not in class, he can be found looking at old photos instead of doing GenEd coursework, subsequently catching up on GenEd coursework, laughing at idiotic things on the internet, screaming at the Green Bay Packers on TV, or doing questionable speeds trying to run down whatever train peaks his interest on a particular day. His passion for trains eventually led to a passion for photography, which started when he first got ahold of his mom’s old Nikon D3200 kit (he insists on shooting Nikon for some reason). After teaching himself how to shoot manual and the basics of photography as a hobbyist, he bought his own big boy camera and began to branch out and start photographing things that weren’t big moving metal boxes when he joined the yearbook staff at South Oldham High School During his senior year. Now that he’s pursuing a degree in Photojournalism, he’s continued to branch out and has produced an image or two that deserves a second look (he thinks at least).
